Program Content: Live, interactive broadcast of original music by songwriters and original bands located in Southern California and anywhere else in the world.
My Role as Co-Host: Choosing songs for the playlist. Introducing songs and information about the artists. Having a fun, lively time with the Host, “Ripper” Rip Morgan.
North Mississippi Songwriter Sessions
WZLQ Z98.5 FM Radio and Podcast, Tupelo MS
Program Content: Interviews with Songwriters, 100% original music
Accomplishments: Launched 2015, North Mississippi Songwriter Sessions (formerly “Local Licks”) is the longest running radio show in Mississippi, exclusively dedicated to songwriters and original music. Over 350 interviews with original solo artists and bands, producing 320+, 1-hour radio-ready sessions. The show has grown in popularity capturing the attention of record labels, artist management companies and music festivals. Podcast launched in 2021 on various podcast streaming platforms.
My Role as Producer, Creator and Host: Deciding show content, booking musicians, conducting interviews, social media promotions, pre and post-production audio engineering, securing sponsors, budget and finances.
Local Licks Songwriter Sessions
WZLQ Z98.5 FM Radio, Tupelo MS
Program Content: Interviews with Songwriters, 100% original music
Accomplishments: Launched 2015, Local Licks is the longest running radio show in Mississippi, exclusively dedicated to songwriters and original music. Over 300 interviews with original solo artists and bands, producing over 250, 1-hour radio-ready sessions. The show has grown in popularity capturing the attention of record labels, artist management companies and music festivals.
My Role as Producer, Creator and Host Deciding show content, booking musicians, conducting interviews, social media promotions, pre and post-production audio engineering, securing sponsors, budget and finances.

My Role as Producer: Participated in creative meetings with the COO, created the program purposes and formats, created the backdrop/stage settings, recruited and scheduled musicians, social media promotions, coordinated with sound engineers, hosted the program.
Contemporary Christian Worship Open Mic “Live” on UnityTV

Program Content: Live performances by Christian contemporary artists.
My Role as Producer: Participated in creative meetings with the COO, created the program purposes and formats, created the backdrop/stage settings, recruited and scheduled musicians, social media promotions, operated video cameras, coordinated with sound engineer, hosted the program, operated cameras, performed “live” with or in place of musicians when needed. Also handled administrative duties at this studio location, including sound engineering and program feeds.

Event Summary: Three songwriters performing in a round, each taking turns performing original songs in front of a live audience, similar to The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville TN. 2nd Thursday every month. This event is recorded “live” for Local Licks Songwriter Sessions on Z98.5FM WZLQ and podcasting.
Accomplishments: Launched 2017 with a 6 month engagement, which has been extended through 2020! Providing a platform for new and experienced, local and regional songwriters.
My Role as Producer: Creator and host, securing the venue, selecting and scheduling musicians, hiring assistants, social media promotions, recording and post-editing audio engineering for radio and podcast, preparing the stage area, greeting and prepping musicians, greeting / networking with the audience, securing sponsors, budget and financials.
Songwriters in the Round “Live” at The Basement

Event Summary: Monthly music event featuring three songwriters performing in a round, each taking turns performing original songs in front of a live audience, similar to The Bluebird Cafe. This event was recorded “live” by North MS - TV99 and Local Licks Songwriter Sessions on Z98.5FM WZLQ.
My Role as Producer: Creator, host, secured the venue, scheduled musicians, social media promotions, provided sound equipment, prepared the stage area, greeted and prepped musicians, greeted / networked with the audience, live sound engineering and post-production audio engineering for radio, podcasting and television, coordinated with videographer form North MS - TV99, budget and financials.
Old Trace Records Audio/Video Project
A division of Malaco Records, Jackson MS
Project Summary: Audio/video interviews with songwriters on the Old Trace Record label for use on radio, podcast and YouTube.
My Role as Co-Producer: Contracted to produce six audio/video interviews, provided sound equipment, coordinated with Malaco sound engineers and videographer, greeted and prepped musicians, conducted and recorded interviews, post-edit audio engineering for radio, podcasting and YouTube, secured sponsors, budget and financials.
Southern Songwriters Showcase
The Link Centre, Tupelo MS
Event Summary: 2-hour showcase featuring 8 songwriters, presented in three rounds at The Link Centre, Tupelo MS.
My Role as Co-Producer: Coordinated with co-producer Brian Harrison, secured venue, selected musicians, social media promotions, host and performer.
Local Licks Songwriting Competition
Michaela Compton Studio, Tupelo MS
Event Summary: Song Competition for World Down Syndrome Day, all genres, song theme: ‘Down syndrome’. Top 3 winning songs were featured on Local Licks Songwriter Sessions radio show. 1st place winner performed with Michaela Compton at the Walkin’ in Memphis Grand Finale, Memphis TN. A portion of each song submission fee was donated to a special needs gymnastics class.

Music Event Coordinator
GumTree Songwriter Competition
GumTree Arts Festival, Tupelo MS
Event Summary: Songwriter competition during the annual GumTree Arts Festival, facilitated by GumTree Museum of Art
Accomplishments: Contracted three consecutive years. Automated the song competition registration process, increased submissions from 25 to 60 song submissions, added and managed a third stage providing 16 hours of performance opportunities for songwriters.
My Role as Event Coordinator: Contracted by GumTree Festival & Museum to coordinate the Songwriter Competition. Scheduled musicians, automated the registration process using wufoo.com, social media promotions, secured judges, reviewed song submissions, assisted in selecting 12 finalists, coordinated with sound engineers and festival coordinators, provided stage plots, greeted and prepped artists, arranged “live” radio remotes, budget and financials. Also performed during the festival and during the GumTree Art Museum Artists' Dinner.
Mississippi Songwriters Festival Interview Project

Event Summary: Annual 4-day festival produced by MS Songwriter Alliance
Accomplishments: Exceeded the guarantee of 7 interviews by providing 12 interviews from this project.
My Role as Event Coordinator: Contracted by MS Songwriter Alliance to conduct interviews with songwriters during the 2019 MS Songwriters Festival in Ocean Springs MS. Scheduled musicians, conducted interviews, provided sound equipment, recorded audio, post-production audio engineering, social media promotions, secured sponsorships, travel budget and financials. As a performing songwriter, I was also scheduled to perform at multiple venues during the festival.
7 Days for the Troops Music Project

Event Summary: Annual fundraiser for Purple Heart Homes, Produced by Scott Burns
Accomplishments: Contracted as volunteer for three consecutive years, increasing musician participation from sparse to 40+ performances per annual event. 2019 produced the highest number of musical performances and money raised to date, in the 10-year history of this event.
My Role as Event Coordinator: Contracted as a volunteer to schedule musicians, greeted and prepped musicians, social media promotions, live sound engineering, coordinated with the event producer and other sound engineers. Also a performing musician at the event.
Local Licks Takeover Night at South Main Sounds
South Main Sounds, Memphis TN
Event Summary: Four songwriters representing Local Licks Songwriter Sessions, traveled to Memphis and “took over” South Main Sounds stage for the evening. South Main Sounds is a venue exclusively featuring original music, in a ‘songwriters-in-a-round’ format.
My Role as Event Coordinator: Secured the venue, coordinated with South Main Sounds manager and sound engineer, selected the songwriters, social media promotions. I was also a performing musician at the event.
Walkin’ in Memphis
Grand Finale Music Concert
DSAM - Down syndrome Assoc of Memphis, TN
Event Summary: Annual Down syndrome awareness event, presented as a walk through downtown Memphis, ending with a musical Grand Finale by the Mississippi River.
My Role as Event Coordinator: Contracted as a volunteer to provide music during the Grand Finale of this non-profit event, social media promotions, provided sound equipment, performed alongside the winner of Local Licks Song Competition (theme: Down syndrome).
Battle of the Bands
The Cotton Mill, Tupelo, MS
Event Summary: Performances by 5 “original music” bands battling for the title and prize money.
My Role as Event Co-Coordinator: Contracted to assist Blue Fox Promotions and MS Radio Group identify the purpose of the event, social media promotions, assist in the selection process of choosing which bands to compete, greeted and prepped the musicians, provided stage plots and coordinated with sound engineers, master of ceremonies. Provided sessions on Local Licks Songwriter Sessions for all contesting bands and a featured session for the winning band.
Gospel & Bluegrass Songwriter Competition
Eggville Bluegrass Festival, Eggville, MS
Event Summary: Annual festival featuring local and regional musicians and artists.
Accomplishments: Contracted two consecutive years, increased participation
My Role as Event Coordinator: Contracted to coordinate the songwriter competition, social media promotions, managed the application process, assisted in selecting the top three finalists and the grand prize winner. Provided the winner with an interview on Local Licks Songwriter Sessions.
